This week we’d like to introduce you to Petit Reve, a husband and wife illustrator duo, Collin and Sarah Walsh. Both of them have vast experience in illustration and design for a greeting card company.
“I wake up every morning thinking, dang am I lucky….When I finish a piece of art and it makes someone happy, it brings me back to that feeling I had when I was a little kid…Ya know, when you showed your mom your finished masterpiece and the next thing you know it’s being proudly displayed on the fridge. I never want that feeling to go away. It’s one of the best feelings in the world! So I just keep making things!” Sarah explains.
Sarah is originally from Albany, New York. She completed her BFA in Graphic Design at The College of St. Rose. After graduating, she worked at Hallmark as an illustrator and designer. And now that Collin and Sarah have a baby boy, she has left Hallmark to work freelance. They are both inspired by 50’s and 60’s design and illustration. Mary Blair and Ben Shahn are their heroes (Mary Blair is our heroine too!).
